Community air quality monitoring
|Presented By||Mapping for Change|
|Goal||Supporting communities in doing their own air quality monitoring|
|Task||Run the project|
|Where||Global, anywhere on the planet|
Community air quality monitoring supports communities with accessing the materials and support required to find out the level of pollution on the streets where they live, work and play. You can find instructions on how to get diffusion tubes, use an app to record your data and how to use community maps to provide a detailed picture of air quality in your local area.
|How to Join||
Organise your community group and read the information on our website. You need to raise funding to buy the diffusion tubes, but we can guide you where to buy them from in the UK. In other places, you'll need to find local provider. We can then guide you on how to use our app and map to collect information and map it online.
|Project Timing||When it suits you and for a length of time that suits the community (and is affordable). We usually run the monitoring period for one, six or twelve months.|
|Materials List||Diffusion Tubes|
|Ideal Age Group||High school (14 - 17 years), College, Graduate students, Adults, Families, Seniors|
|Ideal Frequency||Per month|
