Flu Near You
|Presented By||HealthMap and Skoll Global Threats Fund|
|Goal||Track influenza in real-time across the United States|
|Task||Submit a weekly survey|
Spread the word. Not the flu.
Created by epidemiologists from Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital, Flu Near You leverages the power of the crowd to provide you as well as researchers with real-time information about influenza-like-illness in your area.
Flu Near You relies on voluntary participation of individuals who take only a few seconds each week to share if they have been healthy or sick. We analyze thousands of individual reports and map them to generate local and national views of influenza-like illness. Flu Near You is free and confidential.
